Connect.

It’s one of the words at the top of the navigation bar of our new website because we’re about connections at Hamilton Mill UMC.

One of our goals is that you would connect in a relationship with God.

God created us to be in relationship with Him. While we have a history of turning our backs on God and his vision for our lives, God loves us anyway, pursues us, and offers us the chance for a restored relationship through Jesus Christ. Placing our trust in Jesus Christ is the first step of that connecting relationship, and the next steps include participating in worship, prayer, study, Christian community, giving, serving, and sharing our faith with others. As a church, our desire is to offer you many opportunities to grow and take these next steps. In the posts to come, I’ll be letting you know more about all of these ways for you and your family to connect with God.

Another of our goals is that you would connect in relationship with others.

God created us to be in relationship with others, and we best grow in our relationship with God alongside of others. We see this throughout the Bible—God created Adam & Eve, God formed the nation of Israel, Jesus called together twelve disciples, and through the Holy Spirit, God gave birth to the Church. As the Church, we’re called to love God and others. And we’re called to do this together. For this reason, we have LifeGroups, Sunday School classes, Bible studies, and many other ways for you to connect with God and others.

My hope is that this new blog, and website, will help us as a church family stay connected as you grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ. In the weeks ahead we’ll be launching many new growth groups—groups where you can connect with both God and others. Please be praying about joining a LifeGroup, Disciple Bible Study, or a new Sunday School class, and be looking for announcements about them!
