Back to School Back to Serve
Categories: Service & Volunteering
This is the time of year when students are getting ready to go back to school. School gives everyone an opportunity to meet new friends, learn new things and to grow as an individual. You can gain these same great experiences by serving.
Last Saturday morning a group of volunteers came in to clean and work in the Sanctuary “re-stuffing” the chair back pockets. As we were leaving I thanked the three ladies who had volunteered; Gayle Norton, Nancy O’Neil and Cindy Scott. Gayle then turned to me and thanked me, “I enjoy the opportunity to have fellowship with these ladies. I don’t get to spend time with them enough. I have made some wonderful friends from volunteering here.”
Volunteering at HMUMC gives you the opportunity to meet new friends, learn new things and grow as an individual. This is a perfect time to sign up to serve as a Sunday morning greeter, usher, welcome center shepherd, volunteer as a kitchen angel volunteer on Wednesdays, or serve in the food pantry on Saturday morning.
As you are planning your new schedule for the fall and winter, think about adding some time to give to the church. Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org , I would love to find a volunteer opportunity that would suit your needs.
