GriefShare on Wednesday Nights Begins January 15th

A 13-week small group series that has helped many people come to terms with personal loss while building relationships with others who are facing similar hurdles.  The class will meet at 6:30pm on Wednesdays in modular room A-3, led by Debbie Durand, a licensed professional counselor in the Dacula area.  Debbie is a called and compassionate caregiver with years of experience, a servant’s heart, and a special love for God’s grieving people. 7. Safe Sanctuary Class

Monday, January 20 at 7pm in Room 351

All volunteers and church employees are required to submit to a national background check and to take the Safe Sanctuary class every two years.

The purpose of our Safe Sanctuary Policy is to address the safety and well-being of children, youth, and adults by providing a protective and safe environment.  All church employees and volunteers of children and youth must commit to follow the Safe Sanctuary Policy and conduct ourselves in a manner consistent with the teachings of Christ.  A sanctuary is a sacred place where children, youth, and adults can grow in God’s grace.

*The class is free! Childcare is available, with reservations, for the evening classes.

10. Student Ministry

Student Ministry Ice Skating Trip

Monday, January 20, 2014 from 9:30am to 3:15pm

It is time to have some winter fun! The Student Ministry is going ice skating. Any 6th through 12th grader is welcome! Register by January 17th for a fun day of breakfast, games, ice skating, lunch (provided), and fun! Meet at the church at 9:30am. After games and fun, we’ll leave at 11:45pm for the Ice Forum and we’ll return for pickup by parents at 3:15pm. Make sure you dress warmly and bring a jacket – the Ice Forum is cold! Bring a breakfast item to share (bagels, pop tarts, granola bars, donuts, bowl of fruit, etc)! Cost is $25.

6th Grade Confirmation Retreat

Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center in North Carolina! 

Friday, March 14th at 4:30pm to Sunday, March 16 at 1:00pm

Any 6th grader participating in confirmation class is welcome to attend! Our weekend theme will be “I Promise” and we’ll focus on Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service, and Witness. Check-in at the church Friday, March 14th at 4:30pm and arrive back at the church at 1pm on Sunday. Cost is $175 before February 9th or $199 February 9-March 5th. Registration closes on March 5th.
