4 months from today our church will be rocking with children enjoying VBS – Weird Animals, Where Jesus’ Love is One-of-a-Kind! If you want a leadership role in our VBS, contact Renée Dickhute. Pray for us as we plan this special week to reach the hearts of our children and grow His Kingdom.
Kick-off Week: March 2 – March 8 / Camp: July 14 – July 18
This will be the third year our church will host WinShape Camp for our Dacula community! On kick-off Sunday (March 2), we will learn about our scholarship goal to help send deserving children to camp, how to register rising 2nd – 7th graders for camp, and how you can volunteer at the best camp ever to help children in our community learn more about the God who loves them right here at HMUMC! WinShape Camp for Communities is the ultimate day camp experience. Campers choose from 19 different activities combining sports, arts, recreation, Bible Study and worship into one incredible week, keeping them busy from 8:00am to 5:00pm each day.
7. Say Yes!
Volunteer to help our Hospitality and Caring ministries.
There are opportunities for everyone. Some of the volunteer opportunities on Sunday mornings include: Bus Drivers, assisting at the Welcome Desk, Traffic Ministry, and working on the Coffee Brigade. There are also plenty of opportunities to volunteer throughout the week answering phones, delivering flowers, writing cards, serving as a Sanctuary angel, preparing meals to those in need or helping out with our Wednesday Night Suppers.
Get the kids involved and volunteer as a family! Sunday Morning Greeters, Wednesday Night Supper Serving Crew (families with children over the age of 13 please), or the Flower Power Ministry are all perfectly suited for families. Please contact Robin Boozer at email@example.com for more information on volunteer opportunities!
8. Does your 4th or 5th grader love to sing, dance and worship?
We are looking for more Rooftop Praise Team members to help lead worship at 9:30am. The team will report to The Rooftop at 9:15am sharp to sing and dance on stage during Extreme Worship, our Crosstown Kids’ large group worship experience. After worship, they will join their small groups downstairs. All 4th and 5th graders are invited, however they MUST attend rehearsals on Wednesday nights at 5:00pm in order to participate on Sunday. Duties will include leading dance moves and singing. Vocalists with microphones will be auditioned. To sign up or for more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
9. Solomon House Donations
Thank you for the generous donations to the Solomon House during the holiday season. Each of you helped to provide a beautiful Christmas for all of these women. With your help, this amazing ministry is transforming the lives of so many. Please check out the latest list of items needed for the house by using the link below.
10. Growing Together
Pastor Dave gave a sneak peak of the Growing Together Campaign in services on Sunday, January 25. We learned about the three main campaign goals , and most importantly, we started to pray the campaign prayer together as a church. Praying for the Growing Together campaign is one of the main ways in which we can all “grow together – generation to generation” to help build a future for our church with God as our solid foundation. If you missed the service or have not had a chance to fill out the survey, please visit the Growing Together web page using the link below. Mark your calendars for the Growing Together campaign kick-off on February 23 in all three services.
