3. Growing Together

Growing Together Horizontal_CMYKPastor Dave gave a sneak peak of the Growing Together Campaign in services on Sunday, January 25. We learned about the three main campaign goals , and most importantly, we started to pray the campaign prayer together as a church.

Mark your calendars for the Growing Together campaign kick-off on February 23 in all three services.

4. Looking for a place to use your talents? Join the Communications Ministry

Next Meeting – Sunday, February 9 at 12:30pm in Room 351

If you have an interest in communications, graphic arts, marketing, web design, social media, editing, video production or you just love to be creative, please join our team. ALL ages are welcome. We offer support, prayer and encouragement for cancer patients, family members and loved ones whose lives have been impacted in any way by a cancer diagnosis. Share your experiences with others, or simply listen and take comfort from those who understand.

7. The Problem of Pornography

Some things are harder to talk about with spouses, children, & friends than others… One of those issues is the prevalence of pornography in our world today. Join Jake Larson, a co-founder of Fireproof ministries who has been engaging audiences for 14 years on the topics of grace and sexuality, at one of our upcoming events to get the conversation started:All conversations will center on pornography, purity, & accountability.

4 months from today our church will be rocking with children enjoying VBS – Weird Animals, Where Jesus’ Love is One-of-a-Kind! If you want a leadership role in our VBS, contact Renée Dickhute.  Pray for us as we plan this special week to reach the hearts of our children and grow His Kingdom.

Kick-off Week: March 2 – March 8 / Camp: July 14 – July 18

This will be the third year our church will host WinShape Camp for our Dacula community! On kick-off Sunday (March 2), we will learn about our scholarship goal to help send deserving children to camp, how to register rising 2nd – 7th graders for camp, and how you can volunteer at the best camp ever to help children in our community learn more about the God who loves them right here at HMUMC! WinShape Camp for Communities is the ultimate day camp experience. Campers choose from 19 different activities combining sports, arts, recreation, Bible Study and worship into one incredible week, keeping them busy from 8:00am to 5:00pm each day.

 

9. Does your 4th or 5th grader love to sing, dance and worship?

We are looking for more Rooftop Praise Team members to help lead worship at 9:30am. The team will report to The Rooftop at 9:15am sharp to sing and dance on stage during Extreme Worship, our Crosstown Kids’ large group worship experience. After worship, they will join their small groups downstairs. All 4th and 5th graders are invited, however they MUST attend rehearsals on Wednesday nights at 5:00pm in order to participate on Sunday. Duties will include leading dance moves and singing.
