Easter Dinners for The Pantry

Purchase Easter dinners for our families who depend on the Food Pantry. Your donation of $35.00 will purchase a complete meal with a ham and all of the trimmings. Register online below or place a check in the offering plate with “Easter Dinner” in the memo line.

3. Wednesday Night Supper & Programming Break – April 9 & April 16

We will be taking a break from all Wednesday night programming for the next two weeks for Spring Break and Holy Week. We hope you enjoy the extra time with your family and we look forward to seeing you all on April 23 for Wednesday Night Supper and all of the wonderful mid-week programs we enjoy as a church family.

 

 

4. The Growing Together Church Garden – April 12

Join us for planting day on April 12. We will meet at the church at 9:ooam and head on over to our NEW “Growing Together Community Garden.” We need lots of volunteers to help plant seeds and make sure we are ready to produce a plentiful harvest for donations to The Pantry, the HMUMC Farmer’s Market and for many others in our community. 6. United Methodist Men’s Annual BBQ – April 26

Tickets for the annual Men’s BBQ on April 26 will be on sale after services on Sunday. Everyone loves the United Methodist Men’s famous slow roasted BBQ and Brunswick Stew, so make sure to buy your ticket soon! $8 for a pulled pork plate which includes slaw, baked beans and bread. $5 for a pint of Brunswick Stew.

The “Piecemakers” Prayer Quilt Ministry Weekend Gathering – April 12
The Prayer Quilt Ministry meets every Wednesday from 6:00pm to 8:30pm and every second Saturday of the month from 10:30am to 12:00pm in Modular A-8. Join them and learn how easy it is to make a beautiful quilt for someone in need.

HMUMC Hiking Ministry – April 12 at 7:30am
Join the Hiking Ministry on their next Unicoi Gap hike on April 12. They will leave Flowery Branch at 7:30am. Please email don.crone@merial.com for more details.

HOLY WEEK

Maundy Thursday Communion Service

Thursday, April 17 at 7:00pm

A special communion service focusing on Jesus’ time in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Last Supper and featuring the Mill Creek High School Mastery Ensemble, directed by Stephanie D. Archer, Choral Director. Childcare is available for children 3 years and younger.

 

Good Friday Service “The Labyrinth”

Friday, April 18 at 7:00pm

This celebration and contemplation service guides you even further on Jesus’s journey to the cross with special music, video, readings and a time of reflection, meditation and prayer. Childcare is available for children 3 years and younger.

 

EASTER SUNDAY – Sunday, April 20

Celebrate the empty tomb with us – He has risen! Join us at one or more of the six very special services offered on this glorious day!

7:00am in the Outdoor Celebration Tent

Early risers will love this service celebrating the risen Christ.

 

Traditional Easter Service

8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am in the Sanctuary

Crosstown Kids, Pre-K – 5th grade are invited to choose from three special Easter services; Bible Brunch at 8:00am and our high-energy multi-media Easter on The Rooftop at 9:30am and 11:00am.  Please RSVP for Bible Brunch!

    Please remind the congregation about the Easter Flower Cross that we stand in front of the entrance….the children usually bring flowers to decorate it on Easter morning, Tim will put it up next week..
