We are seriously in need of items to make VBS happen!

Plastic Baby Pools (the hard plastic type) – 2

Water Flippers – 10-12 pairs, adult or kid sizes

Don’t have time to shop for items this week – consider just dropping off a gift card for Wal-Mart, so we can go purchase the items needed.
WinShape Camp!! It is going to be A SUMMER OF A LIFETIME – Register for Camp TODAY!
WinShape Camp at HMUMC is the ultimate day camp experience for rising 2nd – 7th graders. Campers choose from 19 different activities. We combine sports, arts, recreation, Bible Study and worship, keeping them busy from 8:00am to 5:00pm each day for the BEST WEEK EVER! Camp is July 14 – 18.

SUPER SKILLS SUMMER CAMP
Covenant Family Counseling and Resource Center will be holding a SUPER SKILLS SUMMER CAMP at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church the week of July 7th-July 11th from 8:30am-4:30pm. All children (with or without challenges) ages 7 years to 11 years are welcome to come have a great time and practice their social skills! 5. Red Cross Summer Blood Drive
Monday, June 9 from 1:00pm-7:00pm
Sign up online at www.redcrossblood.org using the passcode: hamumc (use all lower case letters) or on Sundays, May 25, June 1 and June 8 before or after service in the narthex. While walk-ins are accepted, the Red Cross appreciates appointments since that allows them to plan the drive more efficiently. Be sure to bring either a Red Cross donor card or a photo ID when you come to make your donation. Volunteers are needed. 6. Shazam! Super 5K Run/Walk
Wednesday, June 11, 2014 @6:30am at the Classic Center, Downtown Athens
Wear your super hero costume and come run a Super-fast race! The 8th Annual North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church’s 5K will be held on June 11th this year and is benefitting the Matthew Initiative, a 501 C3, whose mission is to empower under-resourced churches to build strong and dynamic children’s ministries. The Matthew Initiative has been working with St Paul UMC in downtown Atlanta, Waleska UMC in Waleska, Georgia and Princeton UMC in Athens, Georgia. It is a non-profit supported by Northside UMC, Peachtree Rd UMC, Dunwoody UMC, Candler School of Theology and the Atlanta-Emory District of the United Methodist Church
7. Out of Darkness Training
June 13 – June 14
Help shine a light on human trafficking at this special training class. HMUMC is proud to partner with the Out of Darkness ministry and their mission to help women break the bonds of exploitation in Atlanta. Learn more about how you can help to reach, rescue and restore the women who are still living in bondage. You too can be a part of what God has done and is doing to rebuild and restore the hearts of women in Atlanta and beyond.
8. The Wesley Bell Ringers Concert
June 23 at 7:30pm.
This concert will be part of the choir’s 49th annual concert tour, and will feature 30 teenage ringers playing more than 225 hand-bells and hand-chimes. They have
performed at the US Capitol, Cathedral of the Pines National Monument, Mt. Rushmore, Disneyland and Disney World. The 2014 concert includes the music of Rossini, Handel and Copland. Admission to the concert is free and an offering will be collected. We are looking for several host homes for the bell ringers. If you are interested in hosting, please email email@example.com.
9. All Call Patriotic Choir
11:00am Worship Service on Sunday, July 6
“Come One…Come All” for our All Call Patriotic Choir celebration and make a joyful noise with the Chancel Choir for a one-time commitment before the choir takes a summer break until August. This service features an orchestra and easy to learn patriotic music, so help the choir go out with a BANG by picking up a music folder with listening CD at the Welcome Centers and attend rehearsal on Wednesday, July 2 from 7:00pm-8:30pm. 10. Please Help us Keep The Pantry stocked for the summer!
The Pantry at HMUMC is open every Saturday from 9:30am to 11:30am and gives out over 1,500 pounds of food, feeding an average of 70 families each week. The Pantry relies 100% on the generosity of volunteers and donors to support ongoing operations. Volunteers are welcome any Saturday and donations can be dropped off any time during church office hours at the bins located at the portico entrance.
The most needed items include:
- Canned Entrees, Canned Meats, Canned Fruit, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Canned Vegetables, Pasta, Rice, Beans and Breakfast Cereals. These are our most needed items, however, any nonperishable items are greatly appreciated.
