The “Piecemakers” Touch the Lives of Those in Africa with Their New Pocket Size Prayer Quilts

Categories: Service & Volunteering

The “Piecemakers” Prayer Quilt Ministry recently started making pocket size prayer quilts in addition to the larger quilts that they have blessed so many with over the years. The smaller size quilts are a great way to grow their ministry and witness to even more people going through hardships or any of life’s struggles. A lovely poem is attached to each pocket prayer quilt that describes the purpose of the quilt and what the cross hidden inside of the small quilt means.

This “Pocket Prayer Quilt” was made especially for you to slip in your pocket or purse.

Throughout the day when your fingers touch the cross tucked inside the quilt,

be mindful of God’s love and grace for you. Keep it as a tangible symbol of God’s peace.

Or if you prefer, say a prayer for someone else and pass it along in the form of

a tiny gift.  GOD BLESS YOU!!

photo-3The “Piecemakers” have truly blessed our church and community with their amazing ministry, and now, with the new pocket prayer quilts, they are even blessing people in other countries. Kelcy Loy recently had the opportunity to study abroad and go on a mission trip to Swaziland, South Africa. The HMUMC Quilting Ministry thought that this would be a great opportunity to use the pocket size prayer quilts to reach those who need to feel the love of Christ, so they gave Kelcy a large supply of the small quilts to take with her on the trip. The people in Africa were so AMAZED by the Christian outreach and Kelcy said that she was very blessed by the experience.

Thank you, “Piecemakers” for using your talents to bless others all over the world and for your amazing dedication to spreading the love of Christ!
