A Letter from Renee Dickhute

Categories: Headlines

Dear Church Family,

It is with mixed emotion that I announce that I am retiring from my position as the Director of Children’s Ministries. This decision did not come lightly and is the outcome of much prayer. As I move forward, I plan to continue to seek God’s will for my life, reconnect with God in worship and spend more time with my family. I am excited at the thought of having a vibrant new Children’s Ministry leader continue the work that I have started, and take our Children’s Ministry to the next level. I know God has amazing plans for his children.

I have truly enjoyed my years in ministry, but know that it is time for a change for me personally. I would like to thank the many volunteers I have had the pleasure to work alongside over the years. You are the hands and feet of Christ who serve his children with joy! You rock!

Thanks also to the wonderful staff at HMUMC. I know I can count on any of you anytime, and have done so many times. Working with Traci Lowry in Children’s Ministry has been delightful. I can’t thank her enough for her friendship and her commitment to grow children in faith. I appreciate the leadership of the church and SPR, including Toni Pitt, Dale Robbins and Susan Eyring, as they have supported me in every way for many years.

A special thanks to Pastor Dave who trusted in me to lead the children of this community in Preschool and Children’s Ministry. As I have said in service before, if we have something in particular in mind for the children, he always answers, ‘Yes!” He has supported me through many years of meaningful service to our children and community.

I look forward to seeing how God will continue to grow our Children’s Ministry through all of our dedicated Children’s Ministry staff, leaders, volunteers and your next Children’s Ministry Director. HMUMC is a special place to serve and grow. Please be in prayer for the search committee as they seek God’s will to find the right person to move the Children’s Ministry forward, as well as for me. I am excited to see what God has in store for me in this new chapter in my life. Thanks again.

In His Name,

Renée Dickhute

Renee has been a true blessing to the Children’s Ministry here at Hamilton Mill UMC. We thank her for the strong foundation that she has built. Her commitment to grow strong and faithful children will continue through all of the staff and volunteers that she has mentored over the years.
Renne has family wedding this weekend, so she will not be here on Sunday. Please take the time to share your favorite “Renee memories” and thank her for her dedication to the children in our church and community in the comment section below.

I first met Renee in 2002 when she was kind enough to grant me a tour of the preschool at HMUMC. I fell in love with her, the school and the church immediately. My daughter Kinsey STILL has many happy memories and dear friendships from her time in 3 year & 4 year preschool, Sunday School and VBS. She received her 3rd grade bible from the church and now she is going through confirmation classes. Renee has been there – smiling – every step of the way. She has been a true blessing to our family – as she has been to countless other children and their families. No matter what the future holds for you, Renee – I hope it serves as a reflection of the joy and grace that you have brought to so many lives.

Much love and very best wishes,

There are just not enough adjectives to describe my admiration towards Renee. She is kind, gentle, warm and above all, a gift from God. She has blessed me and my family in more ways than she will ever know. I can say I respect many people but Renee Dickhute is in a class of her own. I have worked for the church Preschool for 12 years and have never crossed paths with anyone like her. She doesn’t just talk the talk of a Christian but walks the walk on a daily basis. If there was ever anyone I wanted to emulate it would be Renee. I know God has great plans for her. I ask that his blessings be poured upon her like she has never felt before. We will miss her terribly but know that God has great plans for her and our Children’s Ministry as well. This will never be good bye but good luck with all that you do!! Much love to you and your sweet family!

Renee…I am excited for you and your family. Enjoy this time with them and that wonderful grandbaby that has added such tremendous joy to your family. I want you to know, I have been truly blessed knowing you in the past ten (+) years. I remember subbing pre-school under your leadership and was in awe by your love for the Lord, the caring loving ways you started each morning in prayer before the pre-school day began with your staff. You have always showed in so many ways how much you have loved these children. Just knowing that Bennett has had your leadership and guidance for a small part of his Biblical introduction to learning and loving Jesus, whether in a pre-school setting or singing out the songs at wee praize, we are blessed. I will miss your sweet greetings and calm, cool, beautiful self but I wish you wonderful memories ahead with your family and look forward to greeting you now on Sunday mornings as you enter to worship not work. Love to all!

Renee, you are loved by all who know you and who have been blessed by your presence in caring for the children at HMUMC. I will think of you every time I repair a name tag for Sunday School on Monday afternoons. I will miss you lots.

They are no words to describe my feelings completely. This wonderful Christian lady will be hard to replace but I know God has a plan for all and I know that Renee will follow wherever God leads her. Praises for all her works. What a blessing she is to all her meet her! Love you Renee!

  14. Traci Lowry Posted on October 16, 2014 at 12:40 pm

You will be missed beyond measure. God has used you to bless so many lives at this church and in our community. We began our journey together in 2007 when you hired me to teach 2 year olds in our preschool. It has been an amazing ride and we have come a long way together. I have learned so much from you professionally, but personally and more importantly, you have been a role model and spiritual leader in my life. I love that we are friends and that our families are close. I pray that God blesses you with rest and family time…and that you emerge recharged and ready for whatever He has planned for you next! Thank you for all you have meant to me and to this church. It will be hard to find feet big enough to fill your shoes! I love you!!!!

Renee, It’s hard to come up with the words to express my fullest gratitude and appreciation for all you have done for me and my family. My kids have grown so much in God with your leadership and kindness and I have enjoyed volunteering with you throughout the years learning so much from you. You are an incredible Christian role model. May God bless you in all your endeavors. Hope this means we can see you and Brian in Builders class together:) Love you! Candice

You already know how amazing I think you are. God’s love just oozes out of you, and lifts the spirits of those around you. Thank you for your constant companionship for the last seven years of VBS and Wednesday night programming. I am happy for you, and I know this is God’s plan.
