The HMUMC church garden, under the management of Tim Burke, has been able to provide our Pantry patrons with tons of beautiful fresh veggies this summer.

“Our garden donations vary dramatically, somewhere between 60 to 250 pounds a week,” Tim Burke commented. “I think it’s important to give the people that visit The Pantry something healthy and fresh with the rest of the goods.”

We have been serving well over 100 families each week and they are loving this healthy addition to their diet.

“Our patrons get so excited about having fresh vegetables from the garden,” Susan Lang, HMUMC Pantry Ministry Leader, added. “They tell us the vegetables are delicious. It’s so nice to be able to have healthy and fresh options for our patrons.”

If you have a garden and have more than you need, consider sharing through The Pantry. Please drop off fresh food items during Pantry hours on Saturday from 9:30am to 11:30am.
