Did you know that it takes over 100 Volunteers to lead our Crosstown Kids in worship on Sunday mornings at 9:30am and 11:00am? Everyone plays an important role in our church whether helping at check in or buddying a special needs child. They are not just volunteers, they are leading our children in their faith and making an eternal difference.

On Sunday, August 2, we invited all of our amazing 2015 Crosstown Kids Leaders to a special dinner in their honor. They were showered with love and appreciation for all they do. Pastor Mark and Pastor Jonathan spoke to them about how important they are in the faith journey of our kids and families. It was a wonderful celebration.

Many of our Crosstown Kids Volunteers serve each and every Sunday, and some of them serve just once a month. But no matter what the time commitment, one thing remains the same; serving and worshiping on Sunday morning with our wonderful kids is truly worth every second.

“I’ve always heard; go where God is working and that is where you can contribute,” Chris Uzzel, HMUMC Crosstown Kids Leader shared. “It is evident that God is at work at the Rooftop through Traci and her group and I am very glad to be a part of it.  These kids get to experience God’s love and learn His truth and this, in turn, fills me with hope for the future.”

Our Crosstown Kids love and adore their Small Group Leaders too.

“Mr. Tom and Mrs. Chris are awesome,” 4th grade Crosstown Kid Sarah said. “I can tell they are good parents because they are such good teachers.”

You too can be a part of this amazing volunteer opportunity. We still need many volunteers for our Crosstown Kids Ministry this fall. To learn more and join the team, please email traci.lowry@hmumc.org.
