In 1 Kings 17, Elijah asks a poor widow to give her last meal to him to eat during a terrible drought in the land.  Despite the fear of going hungry, she trusted in God’s promise to provide flour and oil for herself and her son until the next time it rained. Kids may sometimes think they don’t have what it takes to serve and lend a hand to others. This week, we talked about asking God to help in those moments and then trusting Him to give us what we need. Bottom line: Ask God for what you need to lend a hand.

Our memory verse, Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light shine so others can see it. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will bring glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Please spend some time this week memorizing this verse with your kids!
