LifeGroups exist to help people connect relationally and grow spiritually through intentional times of fellowship, study, and support together. At GroupLink, our LifeGroup launch event, you’ll be able to meet other people interested in getting in a LifeGroup, talk to those already in one, and find a group that fits you in person. Financial Peace University (FPU)
Sundays from 5pm-7pm Starting September 11
We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan! FPU is a biblically based curriculum that teaches people how to handle their money in a faithful way. Through video teaching, class discussions, and interactive small group activities, FPU presents Biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more. 10 weeks led by Tony and Heather Pichetto. $93 per family member kit.

Friday Night Food Fight

Our local high schools are helping us fight hunger in our community by supporting The Pantry at HMUMC! Thank you, Dacula HS and Mill Creek HS! You can help them by bringing your donations to church. We have bins marked for each school in the Narthex.

Support The Pantry every time you shop at Kroger! Last quarter The Pantry received $450 from the Kroger Community Rewards Program. You can help increase this dollar amount simply by signing up or renewing your membership. Each year in August, Kroger requires participants to renew their membership in this special program. 
How to sign up or update! It only takes TWO minutes!

  2. Click “Create an Account” or “Sign In.”
  3. You will be automatically directed to the “Community Rewards” page (if not, click on your name/account at the top right and scroll down to the “community” link at the bottom)

As we prepare to move into our new Worship Center, the Chancel Choir would gladly welcome any persons who love to sing and who are passionate about leading God’s people to deeper, fuller experiences of worship.  If you’ve been thinking about singing with the Chancel Choir, now is the perfect time to join! The Chancel Choir meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pmand childcare can be made available upon requests.

Here Is Something Your Child Won’t Want To Miss This Year!
Kids CrosSing, on Wed. Nights at 5pm, isn’t the same old children’s choir! 
Growing the love of God through music in our children, and helping them develop their gifts as worship leaders for today’s church is a core value of Kids CrosSing. Kids CrosSing’s new children’s choir curriculum “Growing in Grace” is a scripturally-based music developed by proven music educators and children’s choir experts. Your child will come home excited about the fun and engaging songs, games and musical activities.
*NEW – This year we are including 6th graders in the Kids CrosSing Children’s Choir program.

Student Ministry Tailgate
THIS FRIDAY, August 26 at Mill Creek 
In honor of the first home game and youth night at Mill Creek High School, the Student Ministry staff and volunteers will be hosting a pre-game tailgate! Join us for some fun and football!
Student Fall Retreat
Registration IS OPEN!
The Student Ministry is headed to Ocoee Retreat Center for the Best Weekend of the Year October 28-30. All 6th-12th grade students are invited! Don’t miss the Early Bird rate of $179 per student (until August 31). Price increases to $199 per student on September 1st. Space is limited, so register early! $50 deposit is all that’s required to register online.

Student Ministry Fall Worship @ 9:30am

Every Sunday until the opening of our New Worship Center
Students in 6th – 12th grade, join us in The Shed on Sunday mornings at 9:30am for a special sermon series entitled “Church As It Could Be.” Together, we will explore worship: the role of our church body, the importance of relationships, what it means to be a leader, how the Holy Spirit inspires, and how we can stay focused on Jesus as we come together in worship. The purpose of this special series will be to prepare students for all of the exciting opportunities that multi-generational worship will bring to HMUMC when we open our new Worship Center later this Fall.

9. Crosstown Kids

Crosstown Kids’ Retreat at Camp Glisson

Sept. 9 – Sept. 11 / RSVP by August 31
HMUMC and The North Georgia Conference Children’s Ministry Connection is pleased to offer a special retreat for children in rising 3rd – 5th grades. We will enjoy the unique activities available at Camp Glisson, and meet, pray, worship and play with children from other congregations across the conference. The cost is $160 per child.

Rooftop Kidz – 5th Grade Praise Team

Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 7:45pm starting TONIGHT!
ROOFTOP KIDZ is a ministry team consisting of 5th graders serving as leaders in their small group and on The Rooftop as Worship Leaders, Door Holders, and AV/TECH Assistants. Rooftop Kidz provides 5th graders the opportunity to develop leadership skills, discover gifts and talents, serve their church family, grow in their relationship with God, experience worship as a lifestyle and be a role model to the younger kids.
All rising 5th graders are invited to sign up!

One of our favorite days is just around the corner! Third grade students will receive a Bible during the 9:30am or 11:00am worship service.
