August on the Rooftop – Week 4

Finally, this last Sunday in August, we are discovering that God’s promises to Abraham are starting to come true.  Sarah gives birth to Isaac then God asks Abraham to sacrifice his only son.  Abraham trusted and obeyed God believing that God would make a way out.  Abraham didn’t understand why God asked him to do this, but he never faltered on his trust in God’s faithfulness.  OBEDIENCE – trusting those who lead you by doing what you’re asked to do. As we read throughout the Bible, we learn that God has been faithful continuously through history.  Our bottom line for week 4:  I should trust and obey because there’s a bigger plan.
Our memory verse this month comes from Hebrews 13:17a, “Obey your leaders and submit to their authority.  They keep watch over you as men who must give an account.”
