1. 2016 Fall Festival

HMUMC Fall Festival

Sunday, October 23

Our annual fall family fun day filled with sweets, treats and fun entertainment that will make you jump out of your seats!!
FX Live @ 4:30pm – The kids and adults will love this year’s FX Live performance on The Rooftop. You will not want to miss this interactive, multi-media family experience.

Trunk or Treating @ 5:15pm – Dress up the kids in their Halloween costumes and enjoy a fun and safe trunk-or-treating experience after FX Live. Families are encouraged to bring a canned good for The Pantry. No scary costumes please. Adults, join the FUN! Sign up to Host a Trunk!

Chili Cook-off Dinner @ 5:30pm – Join us for a special Chili Cook-off! The cost of the meal will be $5 per person and $3 for kids for a homemade chili meal complete with hot dogs and all of the fixin’s. Please RSVP for dinner OR cook up your favorite chili recipe and join our chili cook-off. Please bring a pot of chili that will feed up to 12 people. Chili cook-off contestants will receive 4 free meals!

2. NEW Growth Group Starting Soon!

The World Turned Upside Down: A six-week study on the book of Acts

Wednesdays 6:30pm – 7:45pm in Room 131 starting October 12

Join Pastor Jonathan for a six week study on the book of Acts. This book, above all else, is a story about the church…and what a story it is! The Acts of the Apostles includes lessons about the kingdom of Christ, church organization and worship, and the work of the Holy spirit.
No cost to attend, but please RSVP by October 7 at www.hmumc.org/acts.
 

3. Day of Service

Day of Service

Saturday, October 1 at the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter

Let’s go beyond our church walls and be God’s light in our community through service.  We’ll meet at the church at 9:00am and caravan to the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter where we will be doing landscaping, possibly a project or two on the houses, painting pumpkins with the children and having a cookout with the residents.  We plan to head back to the church around 1:00pm. Children under 6th grade must be accompanied by an adult.

4. Smoked Pork Shoulder Fundraiser

Men’s Group Smoked Pork Shoulder Fundraiser

The Hamilton Mill United Methodist Men are pre-selling smoked pork shoulders (aka “Boston Butts”) now through October 15. The price is $40 for a whole shoulder and $25 for half. All proceeds supporting the mission and ministries of the HMUMM.  Pork can be picked up at the church on October 22 and will only be available to those who have pre-ordered and pre-paid.
Order and pay online or after services THIS SUNDAY or October 9.

 

5. Ladybug Bazaar

HMUMC Preschool’s Ladybug Bazaar

Thursday, October 6 

9:00am to 2:00pm AND 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Join us for the seventh annual HMUMC Preschool LADYBUG BAZAAR! We will have many local businesses showcasing their products and services! Come enjoy shopping for holiday items and seeing the businesses in our community that are supporting our preschool! Interested in being a vendor? 6. Cantata Choir

Join the Cantata Choir!

Let’s Prepare for Christmas!
It’s still not too late for you to sing with The Cantata Choir as they present the Christmas Choruses from Handel’s “Messiah” on Sunday morning, December 18.  Rehearsals for Cantata Choir are on Tuesday evenings from 6:45pm to 7:45pm followed by Chancel Choir from 7:45pm to 8:45pm. Come join us!

7. Pantry Fundraiser

Pantry Fundraiser at the Buford Corn Maze

Sunday, September 25

Visit the Buford Corn Maze on Sunday, September 25 and The Pantry will get $2.00 from every ticket sold IF you mention The Pantry and bring in a food donation!
 

 

8. Family Mission Project

Family Ministry September Mission Project

The HMUMC Preschool, Mother’s Morning Out, our Crosstown Kids and the Students Ministry are all teaming up to do a mission project each month. In September, we are partnering with McClain Hermes’ Shoes for the Souls program. We are collecting old shoes which will be donated to the Atlanta Mission, and we would love your help! Donation bins are located in The Rooftop, by the Preschool offices, and in The Shed. Thank you for your support.

 

 

9. Student Ministry

2016 Student Ministry Fall Retreat

October 28-30

The Student Ministry is headed to Ocoee Retreat Center for the Best Weekend of the Year! All 6th-12th grade students are invited! Space is limited, so don’t miss out! Total cost is $199 per student, a $50 deposit is all that is required to register online at www.hmumc.org/students. Registration closes October 2!

Ignite Dinner Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to help feed our high school students a snack dinner on Sunday nights at 5:30pm. This is the perfect opportunity for a Small Group, LifeGroup, Sunday School Class or just a group of friends to have fun serving together. If you or your group would be willing to provide a meal for our high school students, we would greatly appreciate your help! They love to eat!

Save Your TP and PT Rolls!

The Student Ministry would love your help collecting toilet paper and paper towel rolls for our “craft” activity choice on Saturday afternoon at the Fall Retreat in October. Donation bins are located across from The Rooftop, just outside of the Family Ministry office suite.
 

 

10. Crosstown Kids

Third Grade Bibles

One of our favorite days is just around the corner! Third grade students will receive a Bible during the 9:30am or 11:00am worship service.
