September on the Rooftop – Week 3

All month long we are journeying through Genesis with Joseph. Last week we found him waiting in prison for Pharaoh’s cup bearer to plead Joseph’s case and to be released from prison. He waited 3 long years but continued trusting God. He ended up being in leadership over all the prisoners before his time was through! In Genesis 41, Pharaoh’s servant remembered Joseph when his master had some troubling dreams. God helped Joseph interpret the dreams and to help Egypt survive through seven years of famine. Joseph was not only released from prison, but was put in command of Egypt, second only to Pharaoh!  Trust is putting your confidence in someone you can depend on. Our bottom line this week: You can trust God no matter what!
Our memory verse this month is Proverbs 3:5,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

Mission Project for September:

The HMUMC Preschool, Mother’s Morning Out, our Crosstown Kids and the Students Ministry are all teaming up to do a mission project each month. In September, we are partnering with McClain Hermes’ Shoes for the Souls program. We are collecting old shoes which will be donated to the Atlanta Mission, and we would love your help! Donation bins are located in The Rooftop, by the Preschool offices, and in The Shed. Thank you for your support.
Many Blessings,
