September on the Rooftop – Week 3

This week, we finished our study of Joseph in Genesis 42-45. Last week, we left Joseph in charge of Egypt second only to Pharaoh himself. The famine that Joseph predicted has spread all the way to Joseph’s family. Jacob sends the brothers to buy food in Egypt where they find themselves in front of Joseph! Without recognizing him at first, Joseph tests them over and over until he finally reveals his identity, forgives them, and ends up reuniting the family for good. Through it all, Joseph remained faithful and God turned what was intended to hurt Joseph into an amazing reunion of their family. Trust is putting your confidence in someone you can depend on. Our bottom line this week: You can trust God no matter what!
Our memory verse this month is Proverbs 3:5,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
