October on the Rooftop – Week 4

Sunday was an amazing day in the life our church! The energy created in our new Worship Center and the presence of the Holy Spirit made for an amazing day! Celebrating Sunday afternoon at our annual Fall Festival was a wonderful way to wrap up this momentous day in the life of HMUMC!
On the Rooftop, we finalized our journey through Joshua by going with the Israelites to Jericho! We marched, blew our horns, and yelled at that famous wall, and yes, it came tumbling down! We learned all about having courage – being brave enough to do what you should do, even when you’re afraid…with God’s help, of course!
This Sunday, October 30, families are given the opportunity to worship together again. Our new Worship Center is the heartbeat of Sunday morning and we know that you will want to share in this experience with your kids. There is no substitute for a child to witness his parents and other family members modeling authentic worship. That is one reason why, on a handful of Sundays during the year, this church will close the Rooftop and encourage the whole family to sit in church together. Psalm 34:3, “Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.” We hope you will take this opportunity to share in worship as a family. For the youngest ones, nursery and PreK programming will be in place. At 11am, we will also experience a traditional children’s moment during worship.

Mark Your Calendar:

New worship times have begun, 8am, 9:15 and 11am.
October 30: Intergenerational Worship at 9:15 and 11. Childcare is provided for those PreK and under. We encourage you to enjoy this opportunity to worship together as a family! (see above!)
November 27: Let’s Deck the Halls! 4:30-6pm. We’ll begin with a special workshop in the old sanctuary where you will get to create your own Advent Wreath to take home and enjoy. We’ll also decorate cookies and sip some hot chocolate! We’ll wrap things up with our interactive worship experience in our new worship center where we’ll enjoy singing and learning about some of our favorite holiday traditions! The HMUMC Preschool, Mother’s Morning Out, our Crosstown Kids and the Students Ministry are all teaming up to do a mission project each month. In October, we are collecting Pennies for Portugal. Donation jars will be located in The Rooftop, by the Preschool offices, and in The Shed on Sunday mornings. Thank you for your support!
Many Blessings,
