Palm Sunday on the Rooftop

Categories: Crosstown Kids

This month we are tackling the topic of humility on the Rooftop.  Humility is putting others first by giving up what you think you deserve.  Our memory verse is Phillipians 2:3, ” Do nothing out of vain conceit.  Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”
Jesus is the ultimate example of humility.  He chose to become one of us and lived a sinless life showing love to others.  He traded a royal crown for a crown of thorns and suffered death to save us.  This month we celebrate Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection at Easter.  On Palm Sunday, we waved palm branches to celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry to Jerusalem for the Passover celebration.  We read about Jesus humbling himself and washing his disciples’ feet.   He served them by doing the job traditionally done by servants.  Our bottom line:  I can put others first by serving them.
I encourage you to spend some time with the devotions we send home with your child on Sunday mornings.  If you didn’t get one, visit our website where you’ll find a devotion that coincides with our discussion on the Rooftop.
