April 30 on the Rooftop

Categories: Crosstown Kids

On Sunday, we spent some time with our monthly memory verse, Philippians 2:3.  “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.  Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”  We gave the kids the opportunity to make some choices when given scenarios where they could either put themselves or others first.  They did a great job choosing to be more like Jesus and learning to understand how much Jesus loves them.  Our bottom line:  Put others first.  All month we have been talking about humility – putting others first by giving up what you think you deserve.

Visit our website, where you’ll find a devotion that coincides with our discussion on the Rooftop.

THIS SUNDAY – Student Ministry Leaders Will Visit 5th Grade Classes
In just a few short weeks, May 28th to be exact, current 5th graders will be moving from the Crosstown Kids’ Ministry to the Student Ministry. To get ready for this transition, our Student Ministry Leaders will be visiting 5th grade Sunday school classes this Sunday. We will be welcoming them into a new ministry and sharing information on all of the fun programs and events that we have planned for our rising 6th graders.

Mother’s Day – May 14
We have a special service planned for Mother’s Day this year, so we are inviting our children to join us in the Worship Center on Sunday, May 14th. Instead of gathering in “The Rooftop,” all children in Kindergarten – 5th grade will worship in The Worship Center at 8am, 9:15am or 11am. Nursery will be available for children 4 years old and younger.

Promotion Sunday – May 28
Promotion Sunday is Sunday, May 28 for Sunday school classes in Children’s Ministry and Student Ministries. Children ages 2 years old through high school will move to the next age/grade level class.

June 5-9: VBS – Maker Fun Factory -Created by God.  Built for a purpose! Registration is just about full, but we are still in need of adult volunteers.  If you’ve forgotten to sign up yourself and your child, both will be accepted. Please contact Traci Lowry to register.

July 10-14: WinShape Camps for Communities

Registration is open now at www.hmumc.org/winshape.
Please look for opportunities to volunteer and to donate to help a kid to come to camp whose family might not be able to afford it.
Adults and students who have completed the 10th grade on up, can be a part of this amazing camp experience, too!  We need lots of volunteers to make it a success and you can receive a discount for your camper as well!

Mark your calendars for our END OF SCHOOL Spirit Night Celebrations!

  • Tuesday, May 23 at Chick-fil-A in Hamilton Mill from 5pm-8pm
