This Week’s Top Ten!

1. This Sunday

This Sunday, September 17th in Worship
Services: Word & Table Service @ 8am  |  Modern Service @ 9:15am  |  Traditional Service @ 11:00am
Christians sometimes are quick to exclude others whose beliefs don’t completely line up with their own. Why is that? Join us on Sunday in worship as Rev. Jason Mincey explores this topic in his message based on Romans 14:1-12.
Please Bring Your HMUMC Piecemakers Prayer Quilt to Church THIS SUNDAY!
THIS Sunday, September 17 at 8am, 9:15am or 11am

We need your help celebrating the love and prayers that our congregation has helped to spread through the Piecemakers Prayer Quilt Ministry. As you know, this Hamilton Mill UMC ministry gives us a place to lay down our prayers for those in need in our church and community.

If you have received a prayer quilt from the Piecemakers ministry, please bring your quilt to church on Sunday. If you have requested a prayer quilt for a friend or loved one, please invite them to join you for worship at HMUMC!

During the 8am, 9:15am and 11am services on Sunday, September 17, we will be highlighting the Piecmakers Prayer Quilt Ministry, praying over the quilts, and most importantly praying for our quilt recipients and requestors. We pray for you and we thank you, because YOU are the reason why this ministry continues to spread the love of Jesus Christ through the power of prayer and reminding our community that they are wrapped in God’s love.

Whether you’re starting a family, raising a family, or wondering if family’s worth the effort, this 6-part study provides direction and hope.
The Parables of Jesus
Pastor Mark’s Study Starting Soon!

Wednesdays 6:30pm-7:45pm | September 27 – October 25

Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.
-Matthew 13:34
What did he mean?  That’s always the question we ask when we hear one of Jesus’ parables. We want some answers, some rules, something we can run with, but Jesus keeps talking in parables.
Beginning September 27, Mark Westmoreland will guide us as we explore the “dark sayings” of Jesus, the parables.  Some are but a sentence, others rich and detailed stories, but they all have the power to draw us into the mystery and truth of the kingdom of God, the grace of God, and even the judgment of God.  As we tell the stories again, we’ll see what commentators and teachers have to say, but, more importantly, we’ll listen.  Where will the parables take us?  Jesus has something to say to us.  May we have ears to hear.
