10. Solomon House Ministry Announcement
Gwinnett Solomon House Closing

The Out of Darkness organization has decided to close the Gwinnett Solomon House. We are thankful for the opportunity we have had to help support this ministry over the past few years. While we are sad to see the ministry come to an end, we also celebrate the work of our dedicated volunteers and the donations our congregation has given that has helped to spread the love of Jesus. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the Solomon House Ministry, you have helped to reach, rescue and restore victims of commercial sexual exploitation, so that the glory of God may be known. Stay tuned for more information on our Solomon House Ministry Celebration in November.

Below is a copy of the letter from Out of Darkness

Hi Team,

As you all know we’ve been operating out of the Acworth house during the month of September to help staff and residents be healthy during some staffing transitions. After a lot of prayer and staff team discussions, the leadership of Out of Darkness and Atlanta Dream Center have made a decision to begin pursuing a one-home campus. Operating in one home will allow us to have a larger space for resident and clinical needs, staff working in the same location, and the ability to grow. During the property search process, we will continue to operate out of Acworth only and will not be reopening safe home operations at the Gwinnett home.

We have not come to this decision lightly and, for the north Gwinnett volunteers especially, we realize that closing the Gwinnett safe home is a huge change in your ministry lives! It’s a bittersweet ending of an amazing season in that home, seeing hundreds of lives changed, women coming to know true love and freedom in Jesus and hope restored! Words are not enough to thank you all for the amazing, eternal ministry that has been accomplished at this home in the life of each woman. We are forever grateful for the opportunity to partner with you all these last 4 years in carrying out God’s mission and serve together in this home – for all the love, time and resources that have have been poured into the home, staff and residents! Our Gwinnett volunteer team is not shutting down, however we understand that closing this Dacula house impacts you all greatly and we will continue to share with you all as we seek out and choose a new property. We know that He will lead you as you seek Him for your own ministry seasons.

Our plan is to have staff in the Gwinnett home weekly, cleaning and packing over the next few months. Volunteer emails will continue to go out to you all regarding ladies and updates at the Acworth home, and you are certainly invited to continue visiting and serving as is possible for you! Please be praying for our staff team and ministry as we trust the Lord for the future and we will definitely be praying for your hearts as you navigate the ministry changes. We are planning a CELEBRATION DAY at the Gwinnett house later in October to gather together and celebrate all that God’s done and the countless hours and love poured out by you all. More info on a day and time will come soon!

Thank you so very much for all that you’ve done and continue to do! We, as a team, pray God’s richest blessings on you, your families and home church partners for generations to come.

We love you all,
OOD staff team
