This Week’s Top Ten!
1. This Sunday in Worship
This Sunday, November 12 in Worship
Services: Word & Table Service @ 8am  |  Modern Service @ 9:15am  |  Traditional Service @ 11:00am
“O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever.  Let the redeemed say so, those he redeemed from trouble” (Psalm 107:1-2).
It is the month of Thanksgiving, and so we remember the blessings that are ours in our Lord, blessings that nothing in this world can take away.  We are loved; we are saved; we are called together; we are given life eternal.  And we are called to be a blessing for the world.  We know what is good and beautiful; we know love.  Let the redeemed say so.  We are blessed.
2. Pastor Mark’s Study Starts TONIGHT!
Pastor Mark’s Advent Study
Wednesdays Nov 8, Nov 15, Nov 28 & Dec 6
6:30pm – 7:45pm | Book Cost: $10
Join Pastor Mark for an Advent study based on Mike Slaughter’s book, “Down to Earth.” This four-week study opens up God’s Christmas surprise to us and examines how it changed everything. The cost of the book is $10.
We will have around 40 books available tonight for $10. If you have already prepaid online, we will reserve a book for you. The rest of the books will be distributed on a first-come/paid, first-serve basis. We can order additional books, of course, but there is also a Kindle version available for $9.99 – click here to get a jump start on your reading. We will begin with the first chapter this week.
3. Parent Workshop TONIGHT!

The student ministry staff would like to invite all parents to join us for our two-session Parent Workshop. Beverly Neville, our well-respected HMUMC ministry, Bible study and student leader, will guide the evenings based on the book “Boundaries with Teens: When to Say Yes, How to Say No” by Dr. Townsend. We’ll give you practical guidelines, advice, and important keys for establishing healthy boundaries-the bedrock of good relationships, maturity, safety, and growth for teens and the adults in their lives.
4. Mission Camp Interest Meeting TONIGHT

Wednesday, November 8 at 5:30pm
Current 6th-8th grade students and their parents are invited to one of our interest meetings to learn more about our Middle School Mission Camp hosted by Dallas FUMC of Dallas, Georgia and in partnership with River of Life Missions. During this 5-day camp from June 20 to 24, 2018, youth and adults will serve as the hands and feet of Christ by providing home improvements and fellowship. Each day work teams will go out to “minister” by painting, re-roofing homes, building wheelchair ramps and porches, etc. River of Life is a camp like no other you have attended.
5. GriefShare Event
GriefShare Event: Surviving the Holidays
Saturday, November 11 at 2pm
The passing of a loved one can leave you wondering if you will ever experience joy during the holidays again.  We understand and would like to invite you to join us for a special two-hour GriefShare event called “Surviving the Holidays.” You’ll learn things like how to deal with the many emotions you’ll face during the holidays, what to do about traditions and other coming changes, helpful tips for surviving social events, and how to discover hope for your future. Most importantly, you will have an opportunity to connect with others who understand how you are feeling.  RSVP to Pastor Jason at jason.mincey@hmumc.org for this free event.
6. Women’s Ministry Meeting
Women’s Ministry Monthly Meeting
Thursday, November 16 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm
This month’s topic: Healing Oils of the Bible. Did you know that oils for healing, cleansing, and holy anointing are mentioned more than 500 times in the Bible?  Moses used them to protect the Israelites from disease, and Mary and Joseph used them to keep baby Jesus and themselves healthy. Today,  modern science finds them to be as effective as antibiotics and to promote overall healthy, vitality and longevity. Bring your Bible and come learn, enjoy, share and experience these holy healing oils. Please RSVP for childcare to dana.terry@hmumc.org.
