Happy Thanksgiving AND Merry Christmas!

Categories: Headlines

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.

-Philippians 1:3-3

Happy Thanksgiving HMUMC Family!

On Thanksgiving, we are blessed to be able to pause and say thank you. Take advantage of this opportunity, personally and as a family. Here are a few ways to show thankfulness this Thanksgiving:

1. Write out several different scriptures and put them under everyone’s plate at the Thanksgiving table. Have everyone share their scripture.

2. Ask each person to share one person they are thankful for and why.

3. Clear off an entire wall for posting words of thanks on small post-it notes throughout the day. Showing gratitude in writing or pictures can cultivate a culture of thanksgiving. And your “Thanksgiving wall” will be a place to reflect on some good news.

4. Because Advent begins soon after Thanksgiving, Thursday is a great time to step into the season. Advent is the time of preparation and anticipation for Christmas. Share your Christmas plans and make sure all of your friends and family know that they are invited to Christmas at HMUMC!
