Jump on in and begin your Hamilton Mill UMC experience here by making some new friends and exploring ways to grow deeper in your faith
Next Starting Point Class:
Sunday, April 30 at 9:15am
Starting Point is a four-session orientation class for people who are considering membership – but it’s more than that! Whether you’re brand new to Hamilton Mill UMC or you’ve been here for a while, Starting Point offers a chance for you to make some new friends and discuss things like:
1) What is “the church,” and why is it important?
2) Why do we take vows when we join the church?
3) What are “spiritual gifts,” and do I have any?
4) What are “sacraments,” and do they really matter?
5) How can I have a real, vital relationship with Jesus Christ as part of the Hamilton Mill UMC family?

Our Main Purpose
Getting people excited about living life in a community of faith. To do this, one of our main emphases is getting people to start thinking about what their particular spiritual gifts might be. Once someone discovers their gifts and matches their giftedness with a need in the world that breaks their heart, they can serve God and people in a way that energizes them like nothing else can.
Why is this class an important part of our church?
Our church is not a building; it is a church of people. We must live in community with each other, sharing our gifts and our needs, if we are to be the church God wants us to be.
After completing Starting Point, those who feel led to join Hamilton Mill UMC will be welcomed into membership during the 11:00am service on the final Sunday of the class.
