Join us for Mission Weekend 2020

Even though we are socially distanced, we can still go out in our community or serve from our homes to make a difference! During the days leading up to Thanksgiving, we will offer various ways for you to serve during our Mission Weekend!  Find all the details here and be sure to sign up by clicking the link below!

November 21st Activities:
Pantry Thanksgiving Distribution: Join us as we distribute hundreds of turkeys and thousands of pounds of food on our biggest Thanksgiving ever!! Anyone 9th grade and above, grab a mask and some comfortable clothes as we serve our community. We will work from 7am to about 11:30am. Spaces are very limited!

Habitat for Humanity Veterans Home Build (Registration Currently Full): Our Military Support Group is helping Habitat for Humanity build a home for a local Gwinnett County veteran. This build will take place in Snellville, from 8:30am-2:30pm. Please plan to dress appropriately for light construction work.

November 22nd Activities (all beginning at 2:30pm and ending at 5pm):
Christmas at Hamilton Mill UMC Family Mission Workday: Grab the whole family and come help us prepare for an incredible Christmas at Hamilton Mill UMC! We will be working on building sets for our brand new Christmas experience. This is a great project for families to work on together and help create a meaningful Advent and Christmas season at HMUMC. We will be working outside on these projects, so wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little paint or dust on.

Pack The Pantry: Another great opportunity for all ages, help us as we Pack the Pantry! Right after our Thanksgiving Distribution, it is time to start preparing for our Christmas at the Pantry! Help us as we sort food and restock the pantry after our biggest weekend ever! Dress comfortably with closed toe shoes.

Trinity Soup Kitchen Meal Prep: Trinity Soup Kitchen is located in downtown Atlanta and continues to do great work with people experiencing homelessness in that area. Because of Covid, Trinity Soup Kitchen is in need of hundreds of meal bags! Join us as we pack these bags and prepare them to be used in Atlanta! This is a great project if you are looking for something that is less physically demanding but still makes a huge difference in our community!

First Responder Outreach: We care deeply about our First Responders at Hamilton Mill UMC. Help us prepare cards, goodie bags, and care kits for local healthcare workers, police officers, EMTs and firefighters. We want to be sure all of our local heroes know the love and care we have for them. This project is great for people of all ages!
